A lack of freshwater is a long-standing issue. 884 million people do not possess a safe source of water. It is the cause of 3.575 deaths per year. Many people have sought out solutions, in order to help better the lives of suffering people.
A popular method of gaining fresh water is for towns to dig wells, many organizations gather money to pay for the expenses of digging.
Dhaka, Bangladesh, will be requiring rooftop water harvesting systems, which will collect rainwater to ease the strains of the water shortage.
Researchers at MIT and in Korea are developing a small portable solar-power device that could remove viruses, bacteria, and other contaminants.
The PUR Packet is a powdered mixture, which can turn 10L of unsanitary water into safe drinking water.
Along with these there are many other ideas being created to solve this problem, soon enough, someone will come up with the perfect solution.
